Spider to Web Bookmark
Material list-
Red Heart Crème De La Crème in Royal Blue (or yarn of your choice.)
**Mine took .2 ounces--so this takes very little yarn.
Size “E” crochet hook (or hook that will give you the size you want
using your choice of yarn.)
Abbreviations-
Chain-ch.
Chains-chs.
Slip Stitch-sl st.
Double Crochet-dc.
Single Crochet-sc.
Half Double Crochet-Hdc.
Space-sp.
Directions-
Spider Web~
Row 1~ Ch 5, sl st in first ch to form ring. Ch 3, 15 dc in ring, join
with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. (16 dc.)
Row 2~ Ch 3, dc in same st, ch 2, skip next st
*2 dc, ch 2, skip next stitch around . Join with sl st to top of first ch 3.
(16 dc.)
Row 3~ Ch 4, dc in next dc.
*Ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next dc around. Sl st to top of
beginning ch 3.
Line From Web to Spider~
Chain 53 (or chain the length of the height of the book that book mark
will be used for.)
Spider~
Hdc in second ch from hook (into line from spider web), hdc in next
5 chains (6 hdc.)
1st leg-Turn, ch 9. Sl st in second ch from hook and sl st in 7 ch.
(8 slip stitches.)
2nd leg-Sl st into first hdc off spider, ch 9, sl st in second ch from hook,
Sl st in 7 chains (8 sl st.)
3rd leg-sl st into next hdc, ch 9, sl st in second ch from hook and in
next 7 chs (8 sl st)
4th leg- Sl st into next hdc, ch 9, sl st in second ch from hook and
next 7 ch (8 sl st.) Sl st into same st of first st of leg 4.
Spider head~
Sc in next 3 hdc. 3 sc in next stitch. Sc in the 5 beginning Hdc of the spider.
5th through 8th legs~
Repeat directions the legs 1 to 4---tie off and hide yarn ends.
Optional beads or wiggly eyes can be added for spider eyes!
Press flat with iron if needed, taking care not to burn or melt your yarn.

thank you for this pattern i am making a dozen of them and giving them to kids for halloween. we are dressing up our new puppy as little red riding hood and i am making her a basket along with her costume and now i am making these to put into the basket to hand out to kids when i take my son trick or treating. thank you again
